Risk Management for Teenagers:
Getting Your Teenager to Make Better Choices

Saturday, October 15, 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM

Risk Management is a key element to conducting business. The more accurately a business can predict the future and assess chances of success, the more likely the business will be sustained. The same principles can be applied to other aspects of life as well.

This two-hour workshop shows parents how teaching your kids to assess risk is a more effective way of getting them to make good choices than outlining an extensive set of rules. If your kids are invested in their own possibilities and know how to think clearly about the consequences of their actions on those possibilities, they will likely choose behaviors that support their futures rather than put them in jeopardy.

Helping Your Teenager in Transition:
Making the Move from Middle School to High School to College to Adult Life

Saturday, October 22, 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM

The teenage years can be difficult for both kid and parent. Successful transitions through stages of education and graduation can make these years easier. But evidence is building that these transitions need support in order to be successful. The Search Institute is an independent, nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide leadership, knowledge, and resources to promote healthy children, youth, and communities. Their research has identified developmental assets that help teenagers make successful transitions into adulthood.
This two-hour workshop is designed to introduce parents of teenagers to these developmental assets and to be aware of the ways in which parents can help their kids gain these assets.

Who is in Control?

Wednesday, October 19, 1:30p to 3:30p

You are a leader. You spend time, money, effort and energy learning how to take charge, get what you want, or conquer your fill-in-the-blank-with-whatever-is-holding-you-back. You want to be the most organized, have the best technology, gain the competitive edge. After all this effort, are you still trying to get control?

This two-hour workshop shows you that the problem is probably that you are asking the wrong questions. Come learn a model of personal, professional and organizational development that will help you ask effective questions in order to get effective results.

Now What? The Importance of Answering the "How" Question in Enterprise
Wednesday, November 2, 1:30p to 3:30p

Process. Process. Process. It has been said that knowledge is power, especially in the information age. It has also been said that the amount of things to know is doubling every year. Can we know it all? Do we need to know it all? We will never know it all. How then can we obtain the power of knowledge?

Applied knowledge is power. This two-hour workshop shows you how to apply what you know and the importance of developing effective processes for personal, professional and organizational growth. Come learn how to "walk the walk" and not just "talk the talk."

Conquer, Compete, Cooperate, or Collaborate:
The Art and Science of Doing Business with People

Wednesday, November 16, 1:30p to 3:30p

Customers, vendors, employees, supervisors, competitors, regulators and bureaucrats: No matter what kind of business you do, you have to deal with people. Each of us makes choices and our choices affect everyone around us. The extent to which our choices can influence others and the extent to which we can effectively respond to the choices of others is the extent to which we can encourage our success (and the success of others).

The two-hour workshop identifies the specific skills that are needed to influence others through our choices and to respond to their choices. Come learn how to effectively communicate with people in order to create personal, professional and organizational success.
